Western Couture
Western Chic will never die. As the
Maverick Fine Western Wear’s Paris-based correspondent, I can assure you that I
see well-heeled Parisian women sporting cowboy boots every day. I am constantly on the prowl for new ideas
about how to wear my western accessories while maintaining a certain sense of
reserve. I tend to wear a lot of black, and like how it provides a tranquil backdrop
to some of my stunning silver and turquoise pieces.
These photos, taken from the March
issue of the French magazine “Gala”, are proof enough that the Western Look is still
as hot as ever in the City of Lights. After reviewing these photos, I can tell
you that my next accessory acquisition will feature feathers! Enjoy the photos, and
remember that the friendly staff at the Maverick Fine Western Wear will be
happy to work with you to achieve these looks, either from the in-store
collection, or through special orders.
Silver “Wing” necklaces and bracelets
by Paris-based jewelry designer, Pascale Monvoisin are presented above with a
Bolo tie by Harpo, Paris. Who ever thought bolos could be so sexy?
Here, fine feather pendants are combined with a large,
silver cross on a chunky chain. The Maverick carries Love Tokens, Coreen
Cordova and Rocki Gorman’s Tres Platos necklace, which are similar in style.
Feathers Galore!
This pair feather-and-bead chandelier earrings from Paris-based brand,
Gas by Marie, is a lot of fun.
I love these stacked, leather and
braided silver bracelets matched here with a gorgeous, black Stetson. The black
silk, fringed trousers keep the look lean and elegant.
The concho belt is a classic,
signature piece that every woman should have! The model seen above comes from
Harpo (Paris) but you can find beautiful ones locally. It looks so elegant as
worn here, with a silk fringe top.
Cowgirl chic, European style. Silk
organza top and calfskin laced suede pants by Just Cavalli. Belt by Isajon
(Paris). Snake ring by Messika (Paris). Other rings and cuff bracelet by Ela
Stone (Paris).
The above image is taken from an advertisement for the brand, Paul &
Joe. The squaw braids, traditional, beaded American Indian accessories combined
with turquoise, silver and still more feathers, evoke the American Southwest at
its best.
